Long time ZONErs probably remember how much I was into Harry Houdini and magic when I was a kid. [Weren't we all?] Despite the fact that I've read books, seen movies, newsreels and more about Harry Houdini, I've never seen the movies that he made. That should change once Harry Houdini Movie Star is released.

I was Houdini nut when I was a kid too. It began when I bought a paperback bio of Houdini that was aimed for young readers when I was ten years old. This is a great find! Thanks for the heads up Craig!
You're welcome, Raf!
I remember I enjoyed a lot the movie "the great Houdini" with Paul Michael Glaser as Houdini role.
LotofSly - Did you ever see the Tony Curtis bio of Houdini? I saw it when I was a kid and enjoyed it, although I'm not sure if it would hold up today.
Hmmm.. I don't remember. I know the movie but don't remember if I saw it. I'm sure it was good. Old Tony Curtis were most of the time great movies !
Carig, back in the late '80s a fellow who claimed he was a relative of Houdini got hold of me and we started working on a comic strip involving Houdini. I tried to find out if there was actually any connection between the two. The internet wasn't as available as it is now. The projects ran into jams like this fellow being able to pay me, so the project stopped. After that, he did accomplish one bit of magic - He disappeared!
Rob, funny story... well, except about you not being paid! Are you coming to Sketch Society this month?
